Picking flowers from one’s own garden must be one of the simplest of pleasures yet greatest of joys…
We make our full and extensive portfolio of cut flowers available as seedlings to home gardeners at the charitable trust, Selmes Garden Centre on Batty’s Road in Blenheim, every season between September and November.
As a farmer-florist we grow with the season and in large part open to the elements, as in a garden setting. More often than not do we avoid the overly hybridised and uniform commercial seed strains in favour of heirloom and open-pollinated types too. This means we grow flowers with personality and robustness, that we can truly vouch for the performance of our seedlings in home gardens, and that growing them successfully is well within your reach.
You may not have the time for propagation or the facilities for seed raising, but you can just about taste the immense joy cutting from your own garden might bring… We so understand!
If you live further afield, please refer back to this page in the winter of 2018, or be sure to subscribe to our newsletter so we can keep you in the loop. We are working on a list, photos, descriptions and the logistics of getting the little plants to you safely – nationwide.
